Pre-Award Services & Resources

Our Sponsored Programs Administration's Pre-Award Area assists investigators in navigating research and training applications and support the grant management process, before and after an award is made.

We process research and training proposals to federal, state, and local government agencies, as well as to private foundations.
We work with investigators and the University's IRB, IACUC, and Laboratory Safety & Environmental Health committees to ensure that pre- and post-award activities involving human subjects, animal subjects, biohazards and radioactive materials meet federal and state regulatory requirements. We interface with Financial Services in the oversight of post-award management and reporting, and coordinate with Development, Technology Transfer, the Graduate School, and the Office of General Counsel, as needed. We act as a liaison to sponsor agencies in negotiating agreements and resolving funding issues.
