Summer 2008 News Bulletin
Going into the summer, The Rockefeller University's Office of Sponsored Research and Program Development (SR-PD) is focusing on daily research administration efforts, application submissions, and the ongoing improvement of services. This 2nd news bulletin highlights some key accomplishments of the past six months.
Our recently launched new website demonstrates our commitment to provide our research community with quality support. Working with IT, our website now offers more content and functionalities than before, higher integration of campus resources, and increased research administration capabilities.
Other significant efforts in recent months include the new Boilerplate section on our site. The boilerplates contain sample text for standard proposal components that you may use as a starting point for your own application, and modify as needed.
Our staff continues to work closely with InfoEd (University's proposal management environment) to optimize the platform’s reliability and ease of use, as well as to enable better searching and reporting tools for researchers and administrators. With our campus IT support, we recently implemented an InfoEd test environment to ensure safer adoption of new enhancements and for reliable training sessions. Our last InfoEd training tutorial was on June 17 and six research/laboratory administrators participated.
SR-PD is collaborating with the University Library in its implementation of the NIH Public Access Policy on campus, in order to ensure that the Rockefeller research community complies with the new requirements. To help advance science and improve human health, the new NIH policy assures public access to the published results of NIH funded research.
This April, Dr. Frances Yee joined our new Program Development area, in the position of Coordinator of Research Programs. Frances is already helping to facilitate large-scale collaborative efforts at Rockefeller (research, training and shared resources), and is an important contributor to other SR-PD services.
Our 3d ResAdmin forum is scheduled for November 13th.
