xTrain (eRA Commons)
xTrain is the NIH's electronic system for managing appointments and terminations for training grants, fellowships and career development awards. xTrain provides program directors, university administrators, and trainees the ability to electronically process and submit appointment and termination forms. It is also used by Agency grants management staff to review and process the appointments and termination notices submitted electronically. Using this eRA Commons module is required as of January 1, 2011. More>>
The Dean’s Office oversees and has been processing RU trainees' appointments and terminations on paper. The transition to xTrain allows the Dean’s Office to continue to provide these services in a more seamless fashion through better sharing and high integration with NIH eRA Commons. To enable this new capability, PIs of institutional training grants are required to designate through their own eRA Commons account a delegate in the Dean’s Office to perform xTrain functions on their behalf. The Dean's office has selected Marta Delgado as the institutional delegate for this initiative.
