National Institutes of Health (NIH) Other Support Disclosure and Training

Policy Statement

The Rockefeller University requires all Senior/Key Personnel on funding proposals to or in connection with awards from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to disclose all research support (active and pending) in Other Support.

All Senior/Key Personnel on funding proposals to or in connection with awards from the NIH must fully understand their responsibility to disclose all resources made available to them in support of and/or related to all of their research endeavors, regardless of whether or not they have monetary value and regardless of whether they are based at Rockefeller University. Other Support does not include training awards, prizes, or gifts. Gifts are resources provided without any expectation of anything (e.g., time, services, specific research activities, money, etc.) in return. By contrast, an item or service that is provided with an expected associated time commitment is not a gift and is an in-kind contribution that must be reported.

Requirement

All Senior/Key Personnel on funding proposals to or in connection with awards from the NIH are required to disclose all Other Support consistent with instructions on NIH’s Other Support at: Other Support | Grants & Funding. This webpage has useful links, including a chart of NIH Pre-award and Post-award Disclosures Relating to the Biographical Sketch and Other Support.

Contracts or agreements with a foreign institution with Senior/Key Personnel such as foreign appointments and/or employment must be uploaded to their profile at: https://RAS.rockefeller.edu. Contracts or agreements that are not in English must be translated.

Training Process

All Senior/Key Personnel (including new Senior/Key Personnel added during the course of an ongoing NIH award) must complete the CITI Research Security online training module at the following times:

  • prior to submitting a funding proposal;
  • prior to submitting a Research Performance Progress Report (RPPR);
