Research Administration Mail List

To comply with RU IT requirements, as of July 1, 2011, the OSPA Research Administration Listserv has been discontinued and replaced by Mail list.  Resadmin Mail list is a communication tool to facilitate the sharing of research administration information with University research/laboratory administrators. Membership on the list is optional and members can unsubscribe by contacting the Mail list owner(s). The Mail list enables the fostering of a learning research administration environment on campus. OSPA will not actively monitor the appropriate use of the Mail list, however, if inappropriate messages are brought to our attention, actions will be taken.

By using this Mail list, you agree that you have read and accepted our guidelines and will adhere to the Mail list code of behavior.

To send messages to the research administrators Mail list, address e-mail to RESADMIN@ROCKEFELLER.EDU.

Use self explanatory subject headings that accurately convey the topic of your email. Indicate the specific email (date, subject title) to which you are responding.

Never send attachments. Instead, place the attachment on a web page and give members the URL.

Never send messages in HTML or "rich text" and avoid formatting whenever possible. The less formatting the better.

Carefully proofread emails prior to sending - check English, spelling, and grammar; remove all ambiguous and offensive material.

Stick to the purpose of the list; the more topic-specific your contributions are, the more useful the list is for everyone; be brief, professional, clear, and logical.

Sign your email and include brief contact information. You can use the signature that you've set up in your mail client or simply type in the information at the end of your note.

Do not use the Mail list to conduct 'surveys'. If deemed absolutely necessary, get approval of the Mail list owner(s) who will have to weigh costs/benefits before they would run the survey themselves.

Avoid using humor or making political comments. Do not post commercial messages. Do not send chain letters, spam, flames (an abusive message about another person), or solicitations.

When forwarding a message to the list, take out the original header information.

Contact the Mail list owners for emails requiring administrative actions (i.e. removing from list, etc.)

Members are solely responsible for the content of their messages. OSPA and the Mail list owner(s) do not vouch for the accuracy of postings or endorse the opinions expressed therein. The Mail list owner(s) reserve the right to accept or reject memberships. Suspension from the Mail list is at the sole discretion of Mail list owner(s).
