The Center for Clinical and Translational Science at Rockefeller University is committed to maximizing the bidirectional opportunities for clinical and translational research. Based on Rockefeller University Hospital's illustrious history as the birthplace of American biomedical science and translational research, and partially funded by an NIH Center for Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA), the Center is designed to provide an optimal infrastructure for conducting clinical and translational research and educating the next generation of physician-scientists committed to patient-oriented research.

The Center for Clinical and Translational Science continues the Rockefeller University tradition of concentrating on the intersection of scientific discovery, human pathophysiology, and novel diagnostic, preventative, and therapeutic strategies for the benefit of all humanity.

In addition to focusing on clinical and translational research, the Center engages and collaborates with diverse community organizations to address issues affecting the health of these populations. The Center seeks to learn from these groups about health and research requirements and to ensure that individuals have the chance to participate in Rockefeller's research studies. In addition, the Center ensures that the research conducted at Rockefeller contributes to behavioral and environmental changes that enhance the health of the community and its members.
