Structural Biology Resource Center

The Structural Biology Resource Center (SBRC) is home to state-of-the-art X-ray equipment for the determination of the three-dimensional structures of biological macromolecules. The Center houses two generators equipped with sub-freezing sample apparatus and detectors: (1) The Rigaku/MSC RUH2R dual port generator with cryo-crystallography equipment and two detectors: RaxisIV and Raxis IV++, (2) The Rigaku/MSC microMax 007HF generator which is equipped with Varimax optics that can be adjusted for small samples (300 micron), X-stream cryosystems and two RaxisIV++ detectors, and the HighFlux HomeLab.  The Center provides training and expert guidance for researchers undertaking crystallographic structure determination.   Other services offered by the SBRC include: maintenance of the instruments, assistance with experimental design, advise on data collection strategies, individualized instruction and training on the instruments, consultation on data analysis, and experimental troubleshooting.
